A Wake-Up Story
The 5 Easy Steps
1. Avoid Pesticides Pesticides have been linked to a wide range of health problems, including asthma and cancer.
2. Use Non-Toxic Products Everyday products like cleaners, cosmetics, and even furnishings contain thousands of chemicals- many linked to health risks.
3. Clean Up Indoor Air Indoor air is often more polluted than outdoor air.
4. Eat Healthy Today's modern diet is laced with chemicals- from pesticides used on farms to synthetic additives and preservatives.
5. Be Wise With Plastics Many plastics are made with toxic chemicals that can be absorbed by your food and beverages or released into your air.

Thanks for posting this. I am so happy to read this b/c as a newly single mom living in NYC, it is super vital for me so that we can breathe in air that is clean as possible. This is so dope of you to get involved in this -- you really *are* a HAUTE mommy. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI'm your new follower from Mommy Delicious (http://momdelicious.blogspot.com) and I look forward to getting to know you better and connecting with you. Cheers!
I was reading the post Rude Awakening about genetically modified corn. I guess it really got me thinking about the food we eat. Even if it isn't processed, doesn't mean that we are safe. We have made the switch to a local farmer for organic milk. Looks like we need to be more aware of where all of our foods is coming from.

No, not all plastic wraps, baggies, etc. are made of PVC plastic. In general, the commercial wraps (used in delis or supermarkets) are the ones most likely to be made from PVC. There are other wraps made from safer plastics available. There are also plastic containers that are safer. Do not use any plastics to heat up foods in the microwave as this encourages the leeching of toxins.
